MUNDANE MIRACULOUS

  • Untitled I
How does an object represent itself? Is it actually a reflection of the parts of ourselves we confide in it?

In the commonplace of everyday routine, moments of the past linger. Association and meaning are embedded in objects. The pattern on a towel, the texture of a wall, or the color of a tablecloth has the power to suggest in the same way a photograph can.

I gather and obfuscate overlooked materials, unhinging their function and form so that they become accessible and emotive in an unfamiliar way. By removing them from context I hope to blur the artificial boundaries between representation and resemblance to explore how we organize and perceive these part objects [self objects].
